LOS ANGELES: French first lady Carla Bruni shot her cameo in Woody Allen’s latest film Midnight In Paris alongside actor Owen Wilson. It is the first acting assignment for the 42-year-old, who has been a supermodel and a singer-songwriter in the past.

Bruni, who is married to French president Nicholas Sarkozy, filmed her scenes on a busy Parisian street near the Pantheon, People magazine reported online.

Vatican ‘bans scantily clad tourists’

LONDON: The Vatican City has banned scantily clad tourists from entering the holy Christian state. The ban had previously applied only to St Peter’s Basilica but guards manning the official entry point into the tiny, walled state begun pulling visitors aside for sporting “inappropriate” attire. The new decree particularly targets those in shorts and shoulder-revealing shirts, Italian news agency ANSA has reported.

France’s first lady Carla Bruni is said to have given almost 32 retakes in five hours for a scene in Woody Allen’s next project ‘Midnight In Paris’.

She appeared alongside actor Owen Wilson on a busy street near the Pantheon (popular building in Paris) for a scene in the comedy film Tuesday, reports digitalspy.co.uk.

The 42-year-old, who plays the director of a Parisian museum, wore a casual white blouse and jeans for the scene.

‘Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well. They must have shot the same set-up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket… around 32 (times),’ said a source from the sets.

‘Midnight in Paris’, which also stars Adrien Brody and Rachel McAdams, is scheduled for release in 2011.
