It is believed that Canalis, a former showgirl, took cocaine at a nightclub in Milan that is now under an investigation into an alleged prostitution ring in which rich clients enjoyed the favours of high-class escort girls while taking drugs.

In court documents released in Milan this week, a French escort girl has testified that she saw a number of young models and starlets, including Canalis, taking cocaine at the clubs.

“I used cocaine along with other people, among whom was Elisabetta Canalis,” the Telegraph quoted the French woman, Karima Menad, 26, as saying.

Her evidence forms part of a dossier, which has been put together by prosecutors on the alleged prostitution ring.

The investigation into two Milan nightclubs – `The Club’ and `Hollywood’ – resulted in the arrest of five people on Monday and the closing down of the two nightclubs.

The allegation dates back to 2008, a year before Italian Canalis,31, started dating Clooney, 49, who owns a luxury villa on the shores of Lake Como, north of Milan, and spends a considerable amount of time in Italy.

Vatican ‘bans scantily clad tourists’

LONDON: The Vatican City has banned scantily clad tourists from entering the holy Christian state. The ban had previously applied only to St Peter’s Basilica but guards manning the official entry point into the tiny, walled state begun pulling visitors aside for sporting “inappropriate” attire. The new decree particularly targets those in shorts and shoulder-revealing shirts, Italian news agency ANSA has reported.

France’s first lady Carla Bruni is said to have given almost 32 retakes in five hours for a scene in Woody Allen’s next project ‘Midnight In Paris’.

She appeared alongside actor Owen Wilson on a busy street near the Pantheon (popular building in Paris) for a scene in the comedy film Tuesday, reports digitalspy.co.uk.

The 42-year-old, who plays the director of a Parisian museum, wore a casual white blouse and jeans for the scene.

‘Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well. They must have shot the same set-up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket… around 32 (times),’ said a source from the sets.

Mocienne Petit Jackson, who lives in the Netherlands, has filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court asking a judge for permission to conduct a DNA test to prove her paternity claim, celebrity website TMZ.com reported.

The woman alleges she was conceived in 1975 when Jackson reportedly impregnated her mother Barbara, Ross’ sister, when he was just 17 years old.

Mocienne also accuses Jackson’s mother, Katherine of scheming to “abduct” her when she was nine to preserve the pop superstar’s “reputation”. The legal documents state her seven kidnappers were later murdered.

Mocienne, who says she has been diagnosed with Vitiligo, the same skin condition Jackson suffered from, explains she’s taking court action now so she can “formally claim my part of my father’s inheritance”.

Al Gore was questioned last week by Portland police, who just re-opened a 2006 case involving a massage therapist’s sexually abuse claims against him.

The former Vice President, who has emphatically denied the allegations, met Thursday with detectives in San Francisco, Portland TV station KATU reports.

A spokesperson for Gore declined to comment on the case, which became public last month when the accuser revealed all the graphic, hilarious details.

Molly Hagerty alleges Gore demanded sexual favors and made “unwanted sexual contact” with her during a massage in his Portland, Ore., hotel room.

Portland police had filed a “special report” in January 2007, recording the massage therapist’s claims that Al Gore grabbed and groped her that night.

The woman went public in a June 23 National Enquirer story and held up “soiled” pants purportedly containing Al Gore DNA for the magazine’s cover.

By July 1, the Portland Police Bureau reopened its sexual assault investigation into Al Gore, who also faces similar claims from two new accusers.

The investigation resumed after detectives looking into the alleged incident last year failed to tell high-ranking officials that they were dropping the case.

Although the resulting film isn’t exactly 3D as per global benchmarks, the technology tries hard to give it a very similar look.

The company hopes to utilise the technology — called Greenfield — to improve the fortunes of film-makers and multiplexes, as more and more screens gear up to screen 3D films.

Besides animation flicks, special-effects bonanzas from
Hollywood such as Avatar, Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland, have a mandatory 3D version releasing in India.

By charging consumers a 30-40% higher price for the 3D version, K Sera Sera hopes it will spin off a new revenue stream for multiplexes and film distributors. It also plans to give a new lease of life to Bollywood classics and release their 3D versions.

The technology launches in India at a time when there’s a global debate about good and bad 3D, the latter being a topic of much discussion after this summer’s special-effects caper Clash of the Titans tanked.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation was quoted saying, “We’ve seen the highest end of 3D in Avatar and you have now witnessed the lowest end of it (in Clash of the Titans). You cannot do anything that is of a lower grade and a lower quality 3D than what has just been done on the Titans. If we, as an industry, choose this 2D to 3D post-production conversion, it’s the end.”

However, K Sera Sera argues that since the numbers of 3D screens are limited, neither have film producers in India marked out the necessary budgets, nor are they willing to spend on the infrastructure required to shoot a film in 3D, a process that requires multiple cameras and sophisticated execution.

Sanjay Gupta, CEO, K Sera Sera said, “Currently in India, 2D to 3D conversion for a full-length feature film may take 4-6 months and cost over Rs20-30 crores, depending on the complexity of the execution. We plan to do it at 5-10% of that cost.”

Currently, Reliance MediaWorks and California-based In-Three are partners in the conversion of 2D films into 3D.
