Liz Hurley to keep her money in ‘quickie’ divorce from husband Arun Nayar

Liz Hurley is to be granted a ‘quickie’ divorce that will allow her to keep her £13m fortune, according to the family of estranged husband Arun Nayar.
As Miss Hurley, 45, announced she and Mr Nayar, 45, had separated for ‘private reasons,’ it emerged the actress visited Mr Nayar’s family two months ago to tell them the marriage was over.
Miss Hurley is said to have visited Mr Nayar’s family to personally apologise for the break-up. The couple, who did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement, are already said to have drawn up a divorce settlement.

According to reports India, Mr Nayar – a textile heir – is determined to keep his pride intact by not benefitting substantially from the divorce.

‘It will be an amicable settlement with no party giving out large portions of money to anybody. Liz doesn’t want Arun’s money and neither is Arun interested in her wealth,’ a family member is said to have told Indian reporters at their townhouse in Mumbai.
Explaining Hurley’s visit with her eight-year-old son Damian two months ago, a family friend added: ‘Liz came to Mumbai with Damian and stayed at a hotel.
‘She then came and saw Arun’s parents and announced that she intends to separate from Arun. It was a brief meeting that barely lasted for half an hour.’

Nevertheless, Mr Nayar’s parents were still shocked when they learned Miss Hurley had been photogprahed kissing former Australian cricketer Shane Warne, 41.
Mr Nayar’s father Vinod – who fell out with Miss Hurley on the couple’s wedding day – is also said to have been hurt by the way Miss Hurley announced the split on Internet site Twitter.
‘Liz was very matter-of-fact. She just said that there are certain irreparable differences between her and Arun and that she intends to separate from him. She also said that she’s sorry.’
‘But she never mentioned that she was seeing anybody when she met her in-laws.

Meanwhile, Miss Hurley last night praised Nayar for being a ‘great father’ to Damian.
The star one more used her Twitter site to convey her feelings, admitting that she had been enduring ‘painful, sad days’ since announcing on Sunday that their marriage was over.
However, she was adamant that Nayar had always been a great step-father to Damian and would always be in the youngster’s life.
She wrote: ‘Painful, sad days. Arun & I separated for private reasons but FTR [for the record] he has been a great father to our son Damian & will always be in his life.’
Mr Nayar has been the only father figure in the life of the model’s son. His biological father, multi-millionaire film producer Steve Bing, was sued by Hurley to prove he was the father after he claimed his relationship with Hurley was ‘non-exclusive’.
