Microsoft has launched ‘Kinect’ interface in India. It is for the lovers of ‘Xbox 360′ gaming device in the country. The new interface will allow the players to play their favorite games making use of their bodies rather than a joystick or a remote.
The new device senses the movements of the users and allows them to play games with their bodies. It has been equipped with a depth sensor, RGB camera and microphone.
At the launch of the new product, Microsoft India Regional Director (Entertainment and Devices Division) Jaspreet Bindra told the reporters that the new device has revolutionized the gaming industry.
He said Kinect has the capability to applications spanning areas, such as health and education. Adding on, he said Kinect will start a new era in the evolution of gaming interface. The new device is the beginning of Natural User Interface rather than Graphical User Interface.
Xbox 360 4GB consoles are available with a Kinect sensor. One can also buy ‘Kinect Adventures’ game by paying Rs 22,990.
Those who already have an Xbox 360 console, the Kinect sensor and ‘Kinect Adventures’ game will be available at a price of Rs 9,990.
Till date, over 45 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold globally.
