Owing to wet outfield and poor visibility conditions, only nine overs could be bowled on the penultimate day of the Ranji Trophy Super League Ground B match played between Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. At stumps on day-three, Himachal Pradesh were 23 for the loss of two wickets in 14 overs in response to the 197 runs made by UP team in their first innings. Due to poor visibility conditions and wet outfield only 37 minute play was possible on Friday. After four inspections, umpires U Gandhe and S Bandekar decided that the game would be started from 4.00 pm. At the start of their first innings on Wednesday, Himachal Pradesh lost two wickets in quick succession. Opener B Thakkar and Gurvinder Singh were dismissed off two successive deliveries by RP Singh. Due to rain and a wet outfield, not a single delivery was bowled on Thursday. Resuming the batting on Friday, Sangram Singh (17 not out) and Vinit Indulkar (4 not out) handled the UP attack with caution.
