Chasing 297-run target, South Africa lost Jacques Kallis (69) and Hashim Amla (61) after the duo steadied their run-chase against India in their World Cup clash at the VCA stadium in Nagpur on Saturday. However, the poor bowling performance form India helped SA win by 3 wickets.
Sachin Tendulkar slammed a blistering 111 before India suffered a stunning batting collapse, losing nine wickets for 29 runs, to be all out for 296 in 48.3 overs in their group B match against South Africa in Nagpur on Saturday.
So inexplicable was the batting collapse that it even overshadowed Tendulkar’s 99th international ton and his involvement in two century partnerships for the first two wickets.
Till Tendulkar (111, 100 balls, 8×4, 3×6) was around, 350 was very much on cards but once he was dismissed, the other Indian batsmen were in a mood to commit hara-kiri.
