Delhi High court issues notice to Vivek Oberoi

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued a notice to Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi on a suit claiming damages of Rs.4 crore against him for his failure to return $3 lakh to a Mumbai-based entertainment company.
Oberoi had accepted the money from Mehta Entertainment Private Limited as an advance for participating in an entertainment programme organised by the company in the U.S. in 2003, but had failed to meet the commitment citing fitness problems.
Mr. Mehta urged the Court to direct the actor to pay the due with 18 per cent interest per annum from the time when he accepted the advance.
Issuing the notice, Justice S. Ravindra Bhat asked Vivek Oberoi to file a reply by November 1.
